Achieving Optimal Results
Your pHformula skin resurfacing program is a complete dermatological skin resurfacing system that contains a unique combination of active ingredients for the treatment of your specific skin concern(s) and condition.
By following the complete program, as prescribed by your pHformula skin specialist, you will not only see visible results but will also be able to protect your skin from future damage.
Results vary depending on the skin disorder and you may need several professional treatments alongside homecare to achieve optimum results.
After Your Treatment
The first 24-28hr post-treatment is an important time to ensure optimal care of your skin. This includes important notes regarding lifestyle, as well as key products that will support your skin.
• Apply an SPF 30+ or 50+ for broad spectrum UV protection of the skin (ensure regular re-application as per manufacturer’s instructions throughout the day).
• Avoid solariums, infrared saunas and/or exposure to direct sunlight after the skin resurfacing treatments.
• Apply the pHformula P.O.S.T. recovery cream and prescribed day time recovery (C.R., A.C., M.E.L.A., or A.G.E. recovery) to help protect the skin against moisture loss.
• No picking or pulling on any loose skin, as it could potentially result in scarring or hyperpigmentation.
• No other active products or treatments should be combined with the pHformula program to avoid possible side effects.
• No electrolysis, facial waxing and/or depilatories for at least 10 days after completion of the program.
• Your A.C.T.I.V.E. formula may be introduced the next evening after your resurfacing treatment - unless otherwise advised by your pHformula skin specialist.
• Your pHformula skin specialist may recommend additional support products that can comfort, soothe and provide additional hydration during your treatment program.
• Avoid intensive exercise for the first 24-48hr post treatment.
When you first start using pHformula homecare
Depending on the condition of your skin, your skin’s history, previous product routine and several other factors, it is possible (though not commonly experienced) that your skin may enter a period of transition during the first month of using pHformula homecare.
During this period, a temporary ‘purge’ may be experienced. Symptoms may include:
Mild redness or irritation
Breakout (e.g. pimples)
Dryness
Tightness
Your pHformula skin specialist can guide you in managing these temporary symptoms, which may require a tweak to the frequency of using certain products or the additional of a new product that provides relief.
